MusicPlace North-West is a music therapy charity based in Liverpool.
MusicPlace provides music therapy sessions from our music therapy room at the Lee Jones Centre, Limekiln Lane, Liverpool, with a variety of service users. For directions click on the find us link
The team of qualified music therapists is also involved in outreach work across Merseyside and the North West.
MusicPlace was originally established in the North-West in 2000 as MusicSpace North West and was part of the nationwide charity The MusicSpace Trust. In July 2010 the local branches of MusicSpace were reformed into independent local organisations and the North West branch started operating as an independent Community Interest Company called MusicPlace North-West. In July 2011 it was registered with the Charity Commission (England and Wales).
- to establish MusicPlace North-West as a centre of excellence for the provision of music therapy across the North West and promotion of the benefits of Music Therapy
- for music therapy to be recognised by medical and educational services as an effective treatment for children and adults with educational/physical/ emotional healthcare needs and that Music therapy will be freely available to them
Our Mission is:
- to provide people in the North-West with access to music therapy irrespective of ability, needs, race gender or sexuality
- to promote music therapy practice and research in Merseyside and the North West
