Sarah joined MusicPlace in February 2021. Her work with the organisation includes working in schools with children aged 5-16 with additional social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as offering online music therapy through social prescription. Sarah works primarily within a humanistic framework and uses musical improvisation, receptive listening, and song writing to help her clients work towards goals.
In 2018 Sarah achieved her Master’s degree (with Distinction) in Music Therapy from the University of the West of England. During her training Sarah completed placements in the UK and in Borneo across a variety of settings including SEN schools, a palliative care hospice, a dementia clinic, and paediatric wards. Sarah also has a BA (Hons) in Music and has performed in several bands since the age of 15. She plays drum kit, guitar, percussion, and sings.
