We are hiring!

We are looking for a music therapist to join our team and work for one day a week in school term time. 

Hours per day: Six

Location: Skelmersdale, Lancashire

Setting: A community primary school for pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. This is a small, caring school with a very good appreciation of therapeutic interventions. Reasons for referral to music therapy at the school include supporting pupils’ social, emotional and communication needs, improving self -esteem and reducing anxiety.

We are looking for a creative, sensitive, enthusiastic therapist with excellent communication skills and the ability to be musically playful. The successful candidate will have the skills and confidence to establish effective working relationships and therapeutic outcomes. Experience of working with children and young people who need additional emotional support is essential. Applications from newly qualified therapists will be considered.

The post will be on a self-employed basis. Sessional rate: competitive.

Management and administrative support will be provided as well as opportunities for CPD

Initial contract: Until December 2021, with the possibility of the contract being extended.

MusicPlace North-West is committed to promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and to keeping them safe.  Applicants will be required to have an enhanced DBS check and to be registered with the HCPC. Professional Indemnity Insurance is also a requirement of the post.
